I use this site each day to update you on the job I am privileged to be doing on your behalf in the European Parliament.
 
I sit on the Parliament’s busy Environment Committee which also covers the areas of public health and food safety.
 
The European Parliament is the world’s largest democratically elected law-making forum and it has seen its functions enhanced considerably since the people of Ireland voted to pass the Lisbon treaty.
 
At present, I am working hard on areas as diverse as mental health, a better food labeling system for consumers, climate change and public health issues such as improved cancer screening in Europe and Ireland.
 
I am also working on local and national issues which affect the quality of life of the people I represent in the counties of Wicklow, Louth, Meath, Kildare, Wexford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois and Offaly.
